More about what we offer
Property Check Services
Every home and property is unique, and the care it needs while you're away can be different too. Whether you're leaving for a short trip, heading south for the winter, or simply need someone keeping an eye on your property, we're here to help.
We recommend meeting with you, touring the property, and discussing your specific needs before getting started. This allows us to create a customized property check plan and know exactly what you'd like us to watch for while you're away.
Exterior Property Checks
Our exterior checks provide a visual walk-around of your property to help identify anything that may need your attention.
Exterior checks may include:
Property Walk-Around – Check exterior doors, windows, fences, garages, and outbuildings for visible signs of damage, forced entry, or unusual activity.
Doors & Entry Points – Note whether designated exterior doors, gates, garages, and other entry points are secure upon arrival and departure.
Outdoor Utilities – Visually check propane or gas systems, power lines, exterior lighting, and security cameras for anything damaged, disturbed, or out of place.
Weather & Storm Damage – Look for concerns caused by wind, rain, snow, or severe weather, including fallen trees or branches, roofing or siding damage, and unusual water pooling.
Mail, Flyers & Packages – Collect mail, flyers, newspapers, and packages and place them in a designated secure location when requested.
Walkways & Property Access – Check sidewalks, driveways, parking pads, and lawn areas for fallen debris, visible damage, or potential hazards.
Vehicles & Equipment – Visually check designated vehicles, trailers, recreational vehicles, or equipment for anything that appears damaged, disturbed, or out of the ordinary.
Well & Septic Areas – Visually check water well caps and septic/sewage covers to ensure they appear secure and remain in place.
Pest Activity – Look for visible signs of rodents, insects, or other pest activity around the property.
Interior Property Checks
Our interior checks help keep an eye on the condition of your home and identify potential concerns before they become bigger problems.
Interior checks may include:
Water & Plumbing – Check for visible leaks, flooding, or water concerns around sinks, toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and other designated areas. When requested and appropriate, taps may be run and toilets flushed.
Heating & Hot Water Systems – Visually check in-floor heating, hot water heaters, and other designated systems for anything unusual.
Indoor Temperature – Record the ambient temperature and confirm the home's away-temperature setting is where you requested it.
Electrical Panel – Visually check the electrical panel for tripped breakers or other obvious concerns.
Fridge & Freezer – Confirm designated refrigerators and freezers appear to be operating and record interior temperatures when requested.
Sump Pump – Visually check the sump pump and surrounding area for concerns.

Lighting & Drapes – Adjust lights, blinds, curtains, or drapes according to your instructions to help give the home a lived-in appearance.
Keeping You Informed
Communication is an important part of our property check service.
When requested, each visit can include arrival and departure photos with the date, time, and location, along with comments or updates about the property.
If we notice something that requires attention, we'll contact you according to the communication and emergency instructions established before you leave.
Additional Property Care Services
Sometimes you need a little more than a regular property check. We can discuss additional services and special requests based on your property and how long you'll be away.

Having this information established ahead of time can make handling an unexpected situation much easier
Because every property is a little different, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. The best place to start is with a conversation. We'll meet with you, tour the property, discuss your concerns and special requests, and determine which services make the most sense for you. From there, we can create a property check plan tailored to your home, acreage, recreational property, or seasonal residence.
